Mya's Story
I first met Matt in April of 2009? Not sure my month is accurate. We were introduced at a place in Houston called The Office. No work was being done there though. We met briefly and really in passing. The next time I heard from him was 3 years later by way of Facebook messenger. A dear friend of mine, Comfort Ojo, had made mention of the fact that a friend of hers was interested in meeting me. I proceeded to ask her 21 questions about his background and upbringing but after a few criminal background checks and google searches I figured there was no harm in responding to his message. That message started a influx of texts that turned to phone calls that turned into a year and 10 months of long distance dating between Atlanta, Chicago and Houston.
Matthew's Story
I first met Mya in Houston, Texas at a mutual friend's birthday party. I thought she was beautiful and was a little intimidated by her in heels at 6'2. We reconnected after I noticed her in a few pictures on Comfort Ojo's Facebook page. ( I am admitting to page stalking) I immediately reached out to Comfort to inquire about Mya, I was a little older and more mature at this time so my first question was does she have a good spirit? We were finally introduced on Facebook and after a quick plane trip to meet the first time in Washington D.C. in November 2012, we began our journey to eventually becoming a couple in February of 2013. We spent two years dating long distance between Chicago and Atlanta, with her dealing with my ridiculous school and work schedule. I made the most important and best decision in my life when we got engaged in November 2014. Our journey has been nothing short of wonderful and I am excited to see what God has planned for our future.
Our Story
First date in 2012 at the movies in Washington, D.C.
After our first meet & greet in Washington, D. C. in November of 2012, we started our relationship in February of 2013. We long distance dated until December of 2014 between Chicago, Atlanta and Houston finally both settling in Houston together. We learned how to make the best of out quick weekend trips to Atlanta or Chicago, we skipped through the snow together during cold winters in Chicago, and spent time walking and talking through Piedmont Park in Atlanta. We created memories during our first two years, and the excitement that we have about creating new ones in our upcoming journey together is what we both look forward to. The journey has been filled with tough lessons for each of us, but more importantly through these lessons we learned how to gracefully love each other. We are looking forward to many more years together.
